Shogun in Gastonia

This place has the best Italian food in Gastonia (and dare I say Charlotte). Honestly, we are mad we found it after living in the area for a year and not sooner. HUGE portions, enough for two meals or more per entree. The Large Stromboli would be a great appetizer for six people. Chicken Parm, Seafood Alfredo, all of them are delicious. And everything is at a very good price. This is a hidden gem I encourage you to go try (only doing take out right now due to COVID19). Good food by good people, take it home to your family tonight!!!

Food was really good and lots of it! We had the lasagna, baked spaghetti, wings, pizza, and cheesecake. All of it was amazing, I can't wait to go back and try other things on the menu. Service was amazing as well, the manager was even walking around making sure everyone was satisfied.

Just went there for lunch today. I did get take out,however when I went in the atmosphere was very nice. The workers were very nice!The Food was really good! I got the Baked Spaghetti and my daughter (who is very picky) got the Chicken Parmigiana both were very delicious! We will definitely be back!

Placed a to go order about 2 months ago and when I got it home, almost every plate was incorrect. When I called the restaurant, they said they would make up for it by replacing our meal and taking care of it the next time we ordered. I tried to place that order today and the guy that answered the phone said that it was too long ago and they wouldn’t do anything now???? Yeah.....they won’t be getting my business again!!!

I have seen multiple rave reviews from the FB group Gaston Eats. I took my son in today to try it for myself. We were promptly greeted and seated soon after. Our waiter was very sweet and attentive. The menu has lots to choose from, from pizza, philly's, wings, gyros as well as classic Italian dishes. I opted for the philly after having a friend from philly highly recommend theirs by saying it was the closest he has found to home in NC. I was not disappointed it was the best philly I've had. My son went for the child's alfredo I had chicken added to it. The bread is obviously fresh baked and served hot. The price point is very reasonable given the portion sizes. We were asked by multiple employees how our experience was. This truly shows that they care about their level of food and service. I'll definitely be back to try more in the future.

Chicken Alfredo was outstanding and a portion large enough to share. The staff was very tentative to our large party, and the pricing was on point. We will definitely eat here again.

The only place in Gastonia to get a perfect pizza (I would know: I've tried every other pie in the city). Nice balance between dough, sauce, and cheese. Excellent, friendly wait staff; Blair was awesome! Authentic and cultured atmosphere. I'll definitely be back soon.

I’ve tried every pizza place in Gastonia over the last four years and I finally found the best pizza. Also the French fries are really good too and my husband had a chicken philly that he really enjoyed as well.

We ate there and Nikki served us! The food was great and plentiful. The service was fast and very friendly! Will definitely be back when we visit the area again!! The ranch was awesome!!!

The food here was decent, not the best I've ever had but good enough to eat again. The customer service and atmosphere were definitely top notch, certainly good enough to guarantee my return. Everyone was friendly and helpful and the server was really fast. We were there with a party of nine and not once did our drink glasses go empty nor did we need anything. The entire meal for the nine of us was less than $100 and we only had one kid's meal.

This place is amazing. I tried a few things off their menu and I love most of them. They sincerely appreciated their customers. I happened to be in there one day and regular customer 's child was asking for a dessert. The owner overheard her conversation that she didn't bring enough money and he immediately stop what he was doing, to give the little guy, the dessert. Little things as such warm my heart and every time I visit, everyone has the same positive energy.

The bread sticks we're off the chart!! Great food. Lasagna was perfect, grilled chicken was excellent. Large portions. Price point was on target. Service was prompt, friendly and courteous! We will be back.

The food was good, although I've had better bread. If you want a decent place this is a good place. Not my first choice though.

Honestly I rated this a 1 star because that’s the only option I had. The food was absolutely DISGUSTING. The two appetizers we had were the mushrooms and the mozzarella sticks, the mushrooms were raw, the marinara sauce had absolutely NO flavor. The pizza was raw and ALL THE VEGETABLES HERE ARE CANNED: the service was horrible, the first waitress had a very bad attitude. I’m not no Gordon Ramsay but I’d shut this place down in a heart beat.

We did a Togo order and everything was hot and just the way we ordered it. Great pizza and calzone. The wings were off the hook.

YES YES YES!!!!!!! So glad we saw this place driving home and stopped to try it. The gyros, the souvlaki, the pita, the tzatziki, the fries!!! All SOOOO GOOD!

I just left here and let me tell you something; fantastic food and staff. Our waitress was friendly, very caring and I never had an empty cup. The food, it tasted just like homemade Italy and don't get me started on the bread; to die for and yes I would fall over for this bread. Everything is made to order, fresh and overall I wish I could give this a higher rating. Went with my family, we had a bit of everything to sample from each other and it was good. Portions are big; I had the spaghetti and meatballs. The meatballs; tender and cooked right. Good seasoning and again good bread. Prices aren't to high and 5/5 would go again.

My son and grandmother eat here at least once a week. I often get the spinach ravioli Togo and its always been amazing. This is good authentic food, and anyone who doesn’t like it probably unaware of what authentic is. Small private owned businesses have my upmost respect. The difference between private owned and corporate is you can tell that private owned puts their heart into the business and truly trying their best to make the customer happy.

What a great place!!! Hard working super friendly staff that makes you feel welcome. Pizza was definitely made with love. Gotta try the cheesecake!!!

Crystal was our waitress and she was outstanding. Super friendly and making sure we were taken care from beginning to end. One of the best waitresses we have ever had! Large amount of food at great price!

Got a regular ole cheese pizza first time here and it was fantastic! I've ate at a few pizza places in Gastonia and I'd have to say this is in my top 3. Would recommend eating here!

Food was absolutely delicious! The only reason why I gave a 4 star is because I waited for about 30 minutes for a to go order for a Philly cheese steak and fries. Other than that everything was great, the people working were very friendly and welcoming. I'll be a returning customer for sure

Very nice service, the food was delish and we will come back to try other dishes!! I tried the spaghetti with meat ball and they were about 4 inches in diameter. Delish!!

I could make these meals we had tonight better at home. Ragu is my go to. The onion rings however WERE SOME OF THE BEST I'VE EVER TASTED! The onion rings get a 5! They taste very sweet!

My husband I thought we would give this place a try, and we realized that we made a bad mistake. I should've went to Portofino's like he told me, because my calzone smelled better than what it looked and tasted like, and my husband didn't care too much for his baked lasagna. There was also this guy that was standing by where I ordered and eventually the one who bought out my Togo order, whom wasn't friendly at all.

Great food and service their pizza was delicious recommend going here for lunch or dinner. Staff is very friendly and attentive.

New restaurant just opened this week. Very large selection on the menu. The booths are fine but the table seating is pretty cramped. Great service and waitress was there when needed. They give you some garlic bread when you are waiting for your food which is really good. The food we ordered arrived timely and very large portions. It tasted great and was hot and fresh. Great value for the cost.

The food was excellent. Had the Chicken Alfredo, sauce was not watery nice and rich. Salad dressing was awesome. Nice lunch for just a little over $10. Waitress Amy was awesome. Will definitely be back. ♥️

New kid on the block, but don't let that fool you. These guys are experienced and the food is excellent! I'd recommend streamlining the checkout process because there is a wait. I recommend asking your waitress to to run your tab as soon as possible so you can get out when you are ready. Otherwise you wait in line. This isn't ideal if you are on lunch break during the week. Otherwise, the food is out promptly and staff are friendly. I definitely recommend trying this place.

Food was on point, and arrived nice and hot. Anne was and attentive and thoughtful server. Just over all an excellent experience. I hope this place lasts for years to come.

First visit at Venecia. Service was great! Food was good. There were 9 people in our party, everyone said their food was good.
